Always Bent Weekly Report

So not much has changed in the way of reports! Fishing has been insane this whole month of December! The bluefin bite continues, boats are still catching them daily, water temps are beginning to play a bigger role, with the bluefin liking the water temps in the 50-53 degree range which is right around that 15-20 fathom line, from Jackspot to Masseys and everywhere in between! With the colder water temps the migratory striped bass are here as well! We have been using our radar to find clusters of birds, and every time we’ve found birds there has been bass under them! So cool seeing these big migratory bass traveling through on their way to the Chesapeake Bay, its amazing how those migratory ocean fish seem almost like a different species compared to our local resident schoolies, or at least the fish we caught all just seemed so big, they are def eating good this year! Needless to say it is a trip saver sometimes and can turn a cold wet day into an awesome day real quick! This week the weather is looking awesome, specially Tuesday/Wednsday, so if you're able to get out and fish now is the time! Trolling still seems to be most effective for bluefin however if you want to cast spinning gear for them, I think now is the best odds for that as well! For the striper we were jigging and casting artificial paddle tails and straight tails on spinning gear, however I’m sure if you really wanted to you could troll for them, but we personally prefer casting and jigging for the striper! Remember you're supposed to be inside 3 miles to specifically target striper, and handle them with care! Don’t hang them by their jaws, cradle them like a baby, and get them back in the water quickly as possible! Good luck and tight lines to everyone fishing this week, and Happy Holidays!

For the holidays, we are offering a discount on our membership program, and we also have a new Bad Habit Sportfishing hooded sweatshirt available in the shop! We appreciate all the support from you all!
